October 16, 2012

Today was the first day that the temperature in Southwest GA was low enough (high = 77 degrees) for me to wear one of my cashmere sweaters. Here is a visual representation of how I felt about that:

  1. That is exactly how I feel when it finally cools down here, too. We have yet to experience it, but I am really hoping it won't be long now...

    1. I'm trying to remember the first time I felt the need to wear a coat last year, and I think it was just before Thanksgiving....

  2. You wear cashmere when it is 77 degrees? This is pretty desperate Whitney, it is more like sundresses temp for me.
    Lol.

    1. Oh yes, it's totally desperate. I spent years building my cashmere (and merino) collection piece-by-piece and it KILLS me that I can't wear it for most of the year in GA. I'll only be here for a couple more years, though, so I can deal. Also, they keep the a/c in my office cranked full-blast since most of the Executives wear wool suits except on Fridays when they can ditch the jacket and tie, so I can get away with cashmere in the office now :)

  3. I know how you feel, I'm still waiting for the temps to drop below ridiculously hot. It was 91F today and we're expecting 93F tomorrow. :(

    2. It's what's known as a dry heat. You know, the kind that hits you when you walk outside your hotel in Vegas in the summer. Looking forward to 80F this Friday!

  4. Whitney, let's house swap for a month. I miss GA, I'm freezing up here already! Been wearing sweaters, tights, wool coats and puffer vests lately and I won't thaw out until June!

    1. Haha, you're on! ;)

Despite my weather-whining, I'm a huge fan of winters in the Southeastern US, and it's going to feel extremely pleasant down here in another week or two. Kinda nice after a lifetime of scraping snow off my windshield every morning from November to March. I've decided that the goal really is to have a summer home in the north and a winter home in the south if one has the means to swing it!
