I've always had a thing for red shoes. When I was little, I had a pair of red patent leather Mary Janes that I called my "Dorothy Shoes", and I wore them everywhere. I've had a pair of red shoes in my wardrobe ever since, but my beaded satin flats have been looking a bit worn out of late. When I saw that Madewell had come up with these chic little red leather skimmers, I knew that they had to come home to my closet.
Holepunch Sidewalk Skimmer in Siberian Red
The leather is flexible right out of the box, and there's just a hint of toe cleavage.
Leather upper and leather lining. I bought these in size 8, which is my usual.
Many flats don't offer a lot of support, but these have pretty decent cushioning.
While I was on the Madewell website, I thought I'd look around a little bit and see if there was anything else that looked like it was worth adding to my cart. The Madewell look is pretty much the embodiment of laid-back cool, and their jeans are definitely worth trying if you're in the market for a new pair. I also have a few of their tees and tanks and I'm a big fan.
Striped Looking Glass Tank in Siberian Red
Soft and relaxed. Great weekend tank. I'm a sucker for stripes and I like the way that the pattern plays against itself on this tank.
Side view. The red stripes are brighter than they appear in these pictures, and the ground is a parchment color.
Another reason that I like this top? Whenever I wear it, it immediately makes me think of one of the best songs OF ALL TIME:
I had never tried any of Madewell's jewelry before, and these little charms caught my eye.
Jazz Age Pendant Necklace in Light Worn Gold
I was surprised at the weight of the necklace - these are no cheapo charms!
Hanging prettily over my J.Crew Talitha blouse (in SILK, this time).
I'm hoping to make a trip to the closest Madewell B&M location soon so that I can check out what else they have for Spring, as well as to get a better idea of size and fit. I might also order another pair of Sidewalk Skimmers, maybe in the patent leather.
Has anything caught your eye at Madewell?
