Kate Middleton's Navy Blazer
Who doesn't love a navy blue blazer, especially a blazer as smart as the one that Kate Middleton has been sporting to cheer on Zara Phillips during the Olympic Equestrian Events? The blazer is designed by the Canadian company Smythe, it's simply called "The One-Button Blazer in Navy", and Kate wore it last year during her Canadian grand tour with Wills. It used to be offered for sale at Neiman Marcus here, but it appears to be sold out. Here is an article from The National Post detailing the jacket's journey to Kate's closet. I love that she re-wears her favorite clothes.
Oh Harry, you scamp.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appear to be having a wonderful time cheering on their countrymen at the Olympic Games this year.
Awwww! So happy! So pretty!
And here's a pic of the rest of the Royal Fans.
I always love me some B & E.
My navy blazer gets as much wear as Kate's does - it's a wardrobe essential imo.
Do you have a favorite navy blazer? Do you own a Smythe blazer like Kate's?

Love her style. My navy blazer is from the Gap. I love it so much.
ReplyDeleteThey're the best.
ReplyDeleteI know that everyone feels like this, but I think that Kate and I could really be friends irl. And now that I look at that sentence, I feel the need to clarify that I am not a crazy stalker.
In a properly ordered world, I would be able to live I navy blazer, dark jeans, white shirt by day and LBD by night, and I would do good deeds for suffering humanity.
ReplyDeleteSounds perfect - I'll travel with you in my navy blazer, striped tee, and skinny jeans and hold your handbag while you tend the sick.
DeleteHaha Whitney, I know exactly what you mean!
ReplyDeleteSmythe make the best jackets, they are so well cut. Isn't that the photo of them hugging going to be the iconic photo of the century?
ReplyDeleteOnce again, I'm going to sound like a total Royal Creeper but I am OBSESSED with how touchy-feely and flirty they have been during the Olympics! Usually they keep the required 6-inch "decorum distance" between themselves whenever they appear in public, but not during the games! This is how I like to imagine them when they are in private - all buddy-buddy and sporty and sexy :)
DeleteIt's the tailoring of Kate's Smythe jacket that caught my eye. I thought that maybe it had been tailored *for* her (and it still probably was), but it looks like it is perfectly cut in all of the various online pics as well. I'd love to be able to try one on someday.
I love that they seem to love and enjoy each other so much. I've overlooked a navy blazer for many years, thought it too boring. A couple months ago, decided I needed a navy suit so bought the JC superfine cotton. I don't own anything Smythe, wish I did. I was just thinking Kate is like Michelle in that anything they're seen wearing that's easily available will sell out quickly. I love that they both repeat pieces of their wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteI have two of J.Crew's Superfine Cotton jackets - in Beechwood and Smoky Graphite with pencil skirts to match - and I LOVE them. Not a week goes by that I don't wear one or more of those pieces to work. I just wish they would do more than one dress per summer in Superfine Cotton.
DeleteGreat photos! It is always nice to see married couples happy in each other's company.
ReplyDeleteI am sourcing a new navy blazer as part of my fall wardrobe. I don't have it narrowed down yet but I think I'm close. I plan to have a couple of posts on fall wardrobe planning and one on classic pieces, which of course includes a navy blazer.
Ooh, that sounds great, I can't wait to see your post! My black blazer is getting close to the decade mark and it still looks great, but one of these days I'd like to upgrade to one that is perfectly tailored for me, maybe even a bespoke one! It's on my lifetime list :)
